Chaosnow

Have you ever wanted to be alone when you ski? Are you tired of those annoying skiers? We've got a solution for you: In Chaosnow, you control a snowman who hurtles down a mountain as far as he can. However, he's not the gentle type. He won't hesitate to kill every skier in his path. Arm yourself with your best weapons and don't stop skiing until you're in first place!

The game was created in April - May 2022 during the Free 2 Play project organised by ISART Digital, in collaboration with GDP (Game Design & Programming).

Details

Chaosnow was a really formative project in terms of mobile development. One of our biggest challenges was optimizing the game for good performance on the majority of devices. It was a team effort between us at GD, who looked after the research and integration of visual elements and 3D objects, and the programmers who looked after optimizing the engine. We had to set up QA test processes with building comparisons to find the problematic elements. The other important element of this project for me was the creation of the documentation, i.e. the One Page Document and the Game Concept Document. It was a big job, and a second GD came in to help me improve the readability of the layout.
